Parents: If you would like to create a Family Account, please register yourself first and then register your children under your account.

It’s simple: Earn points and collect badges for doing all kinds of stuff over the summer, like reading, playing games, going to library events, and experiencing things in your community.

Wondering how to add family members, get badges, find secret codes, or play the games? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

How it Works:

  • Register for an account.
  • Log in, record your reading, and explore other ways to earn points.
  • Play educational games, complete missions, and win prizes!

Put reading first,
by spending time reading or being read to this summer.

Who counts as an "Early Reader?"
In general, kids who aren't reading on their own yet are what we call "Early Readers."  There are lots of activities that can build their brain's "reading muscles" before they ever pick up a book, and that will help them be ready to enter school or start reading solo; even tiny babies can benefit!

One of the best (and easiest!) ways to start is for a parent, grandparent, older sibling, or friend to read to them; and if the person who reads to them is also signed up for the program, they can count that as time that they spent reading, too!  It's win-win.

Even reading for just a minute or two here and there throughout the day can help your child learn to recognize new words and sounds - and it teaches them that reading is important to the most important person in their world: YOU!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?
Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, children, teens, adults — everyone!  Children too young to read by themselves are welcome to participate by having a parent or caretaker sign them up and read to them.

Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader?
Of course! Reading an e-book counts just like reading a paper one; that's one of the reasons we count minutes, not pages.

Can I count time that I spend reading to my kids?
For sure! We love when you read to your kids!

Can I count audiobooks?
You bet!

Can I count the time that I spend reading a book even if I don’t finish it?
Absolutely! Ten minutes is ten minutes.

Can I join the program after its official start date?
Definitely!  You can join up until the last day of July; after that, you'll have to wait until next year.
